Key Priority 1 :  Teaching and Learning

Improve the quality of teaching so that it is consistently good and moving towards outstanding in order to accelerate progress and raise pupils’ achievement in English and Mathematics by:

  • Making sure that teachers’ expectations of what pupils can achieve are always high enough
  • Ensuring that teachers always provide work that is challenging enough and meets pupils’ needs.

  • Providing opportunities for teachers to observe and share existing good and outstanding teaching across the school and in other schools to enable them to improve their skills.

Key Priority 2 :   Leadership and Management

Improve the impact of leadership, management and governance at all levels by:

  • Further developing the skills of middle leaders and ensuring that leadership responsibilities are distributed more widely across the staff
  • Ensuring that members of the governing body are more fully aware of performance in all areas of school life, but particularly in relation to pupils’ achievement, in order that they can challenge the leadership with the utmost rigour.

To investigate and implement a new assessment system for the school to meet the statutory regulations by July 2015 (Assessment without levels).
