Unavoidable School Closure – Jan 2021.
Hi and Happy New Year to you all.
I am sorry to be emailing you at such short notice regarding the start of school on Monday but as I am sure you will be aware from the news there have been calls to keep schools closed for a period of two weeks to reduce the spread of the new strain of COVID-19.
Due to the uncertainty around the new variant of Covid-19 and how easily it is transmissible, and the lack of evidence from the government to assess the safety of pupils and staff, teaching unions and support staff unions are advising their members not to attend work if they feel unsafe returning to the work place under these conditions. As the majority of the staff have followed their union advice we are unable to open to all children over the next two weeks. As such there will be remote learning provided and as in the summer term we will be open for those children deemed vulnerable and for those of Key Workers.
Due to the short notice of this I will be calling an unavoidable school closure tomorrow for all children in order to provide time to assess who will require a key worker place. Class teachers will email all children activities for tomorrow by 10am and full remote learning will commence from Tuesday morning.
If you feel your child is eligible for a key worker place and you would like them to access this please email school by 10am tomorrow
Thank you as always for your support
